K Club Retains 5 Red Star GradingKClub

The K Club has retained its elite rating of 5 AA Red Stars. This is the highest standard that can be attained by any Hotel in Ireland, and the Kildare venue has now achieved the top rating for a record 15 consecutive years.

“Hotels do not get better than 5 Red Stars; it’s the pinnacle.” Says Conor Faughnan. “Attaining and keeping the standard for such a long period is absolutely remarkable. It could not have been achieved without sustained and devoted commitment on the part of the owners, management and staff at the K Club.”

The iconic Straffan resort opened its doors for the first time in 1991. It was clearly a singular property, meriting a five star rating immediately. But AA Red Stars mean an even higher standard. It is awarded only to Hotels that are outstanding in their classification.

The AA Inspection team praised the Hotel for its high quality of professionalism and hospitality skills. The staff are charming and extremely competent, pleasant and helpful; the settings and public areas beautifully maintained.

Dinner in the elegant Byerley Turk is the epitome of formal fine dining, other options include an interesting brasserie style River Room and chargrilled aged beef is a feature of the extensive menu in Legends Restaurant in the Arnold Palmer Golf pavilion.

The Byerley Turk has held 3 AA Rosettes since 1993, testament to the consistency and skill of the kitchen brigade, led by Head Chef Finbar Higgins.

The K Club is one of Ireland’s flagship locations, showing our brightest face to the world. It is rightly world famous, and is a byword for the height of luxury, Irish style.

There are two other AA 5 Red Star properties in Ireland: Dromoland Castle, Newmarket-On-Fergus, Clare and The Merrion Hotel, Dublin. There is just one other property with a 3 Rosette Award in Ireland the Nuremore Hotel at Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan.
